We have established a chapel dedicated to two heroic martyrs: Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross and Blessed Titus Brandsma. The chapel consists of an intimate prayer space with seating around the periphery for meditation, private or group prayer, conversation and sharing. The centerpiece is an icon of Christ displaying the scripture, "Love your enemies; pray for those who persecute you." (Matthew 5:44)
The purpose of the chapel is to promote Carmelite spirituality while fostering devotion to these two models of compassion, peacemaking and forgiveness. We are living in a time when the world is deeply in need of these virtues. Their intercession is needed to heal divisions and strife on a global and national level, but also on an interpersonal level among neighbors, within families, and within the Church itself.
The Carmelite Martyrs Pocket Token
This silver-toned pocket token displays the images of St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein) and St. Titus Brandsma within the Carmelite coat of arms. The other side bears an image of Christ with the injunction to "Pray for those who persecute you; love your enemies" as these two martyrs did.
The pocket token can be sent to you in thanks for your gift of $8 or more in support of the Chapel of the Carmelite Martyrs.
Mary, Untier of Knots Rosary
The devotion to Mary as "Untier of Knots" derives from the fact that the Blessed Mother, through her faith and obedience to God, help to undo the knots of sin that mankind bound itself in through its lack of faith. The Rosary, including the beads and Cross, is formed entirely from knots of red cord.
We will send you this Rosary in gratitude for your offering of $6 or more.
This Rosary, fashioned from burnished wood beads and Cross and brown cord, is in the Carmelite tradition of simplicity and in the color of the Carmelite habit.
You may request this rosary as a "thank you" gift for your offering of $10 or more.
Saint Titus Brandsma Rosary
This rosary is dedicated to St. Titus Brandsma, the newly canonized Carmelite saint martyred by the Nazis at Dachau. The medallion has a tinted image of St. Titus on one side, and a color depiction of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on the other.
This rosary can be sent to you when you make a gift of $21 or more to support the Chapel of the Carmelite Martyrs.
