Welcome to Religious Education at St. Jude Catholic Church
The theme for the 2023-2024 School Year is
Near the shores of Galilee, Jesus' words to his first disciples were "Come and See." In that moment of encounter, something changed in the hearts of those men forever. During this year of the Eucharistic Revival, we want all the faithful to be invited to "Come and See" in hopes that they truly encounter the presence of Jesus alive in the Eucharist.
Our Mission
To collaborate with parents to form a new generation of Catholics who know and love Jesus Christ and live as his disciples in the community of the Catholic Church. The Church recognizes that parents are the first and most important teachers of their children and we strive to assist you in their faith development. We are committed to help you foster your child's faith, and to assist you in your role as catechist by providing an environment that will allow them to learn, serve and grow as members of the Catholic Church and as disciples of Jesus. All grade levels of religious education are important, each assisting the child to grow in a deeper knowledge of God and of their faith. Skipping years in between sacraments does not allow for adequate faith formation. We strongly recommend that children attend religious education every year.

We are transitioning our Middle School and High School classes (including Confirmation preparation) from traditional classroom learning/teaching, to a Small Group Discipleship Ministry.
I am excited to announce that we have partnered with the Diocesan Office of Youth Ministry in the prayerful discernment and development of a NEW vision for Youth Ministry and Confirmation here at St. Jude.
This vision, modeled after the ministry model of Jesus Christ, is relational and invites young people and their families to an encounter and conversion to Jesus Christ through small mentored communities of faith. Teens will be placed in small groups (no more than 12) with two group leaders/mentors. It is our hope that these small groups and mentors will grow in discipleship, not just for the length of sacramental preparation, but beyond.
Our NEW Small Group Discipleship Ministry will also begin Sunday September 17, 2023. In the beginning the small groups will also be held from 10:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. However, adjustments may be made to best fit each group's needs. The goal is meeting the teens where they are and walking with them toward an encounter.
